Foreword (from The Bouncer's Bible)A good bouncer is a person with two sides to his personality. One side has a compassion and respect for his patrons. The other side is a trained professional who will use the necessary force needed to protect himself and others from bodily harm.In this book you may find on one page I am teaching peace and on the next page, fighting a war. My answer to this is quite simple, in the Holy Bible you have God teaching love and peace but you also have quite a few good examples of God when he gets pissed off. I mean, take Jesus for example. The Son of God Himself, a messenger of love and peace, walked into a holy temple and started whoopin' Pharisee ass. I mean, He was busier than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest! He chased everyone out of there because they were gambling and doing shit they weren't supposed to do. I guess Jesus just got tired of putting up with their bullshit. In the bouncing business you are going to get those people who just come to fight, and you can talk until you are blue in the face and get nowhere. Some people say, "Why don't you just call the police?" Well, when you call the police it usually takes at least 5 to 10 minutes for response time. It takes about 30 seconds for some asshole to punch you in the face, kick you in the nuts and stomp the ever living shit out of you. By the time the cops arrive, the asshole is long gone and they get to take your statement a syou're being carried out on the streacher. In closing let me say, there are no easy solutions to working the door, but The Bouncer's Bible is a definite step in the right direction. |
